We had a sonogram yesterday and all seems to be well with 'Raisin'. Raisin didn't want to cooperate with the sonographer - she (?) kept looking at the "camera" as shown here.

Raisin looks like an alien in that pic! :) She was quite active and you could see the heart beating, the arms and legs kicking around, the brain lobes and the face pretty well. Even though I didn't care for my wife to have this test now (it was meant to find certain defects and isn't all that accurate), the "live video" and pics were worth it to me. Here is a closeup profile of Raisin's head.

It is AWEsome to see God's creating in action. We also learned we are 2 weeks further along than previously thought based on the crown to rump distance. 13 weeks and 3 days now though I'm not sure how they can be quite that precise. If that's correct our due date is now August 18. Maybe Merrie can pop her out early so the boys can see since school starts the 15th I think. They seem to think they'd like to watch. We think they don't have a clue what it is like!

Merrie is beginning to feel just a bit better, too. Praise God!

We're 10 weeks along now and things haven't changed. Merrie has a few more weeks of sickness to live through before things start to improve. We were fortunate enough to hear the heartbeat on Friday though. 160 BPM - right on target! We have an appointment next Monday to do a special ultrasound to detect abnormalities since Merrie is at greater risk because of her age.

I found a cool site for Christian men. AfterHim is a nice place to relax (or not) and fellowship with other men who wish to improve their faith walk and hold one another accountable. My accountability partner was the one who told me about it.

The consulting work I've been doing will keep me fairly busy for the next 2 months at least. I sure hope it continues after that as well, but I'll start trying to expand my customer base soon. It's not wise to have all your eggs in one basket.
